Our 'Urban Jungle' printed carpet, designed by Helen Skelton for the second 'Spark your City' campaign, turned the walkway between London Waterloo station and the South Bank into a jungle kaleidoscope, brightening up the dullest of morning commutes.
A special framework was built into the walkway to provide the kaleidoscope tunnel and mirrors were attached to those walls. It was our printed carpet reflected in those mirrors that created the special effect and mesmerised all those who walked through.
Appointed by Marmalade, we printed and cut the 26.5m x 5.5m carpet in two sections, each with a diamond shape end. This meant the carpet had to be cut on our specialised machinery to ensure the best angle and cleanest cut was made.
Dan was in charge of printing and Ben Lavis prepared the carpet for install, ensuring the carpet would not lift under any weather conditions. They then headed to the site and managed to install the printed carpet with just an hour to go before the event opened.
I just wanted to say another thank you to you and your amazing team for the Sutton Walk project.
The schedule went pear shaped but your guys were so tolerant and patient and good humoured – so thank you!
Everyone is really happy with the result – and I’m sure we’ll be in touch soon!!!
All the best - David
