Rolling Out the Carpet for the London Marathon

We were delighted to be involved in the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon producing an 80m long Buxton Water carpet to be placed along Tooley Street for their 'Run with a Loved One' lane.

As it was such a large job, Ben conducted a survey of the carpet location a few weeks in advance to ensure we would be able to meet all the health and safety requirements. The road, for example, had a lot of pot holes that we had to fill with sand to ensure the carpet was level for the runners. We also had to add a bevel edge at the front and end of the print to prevent any tripping hazards.

Tamzin managed the client relationship and artwork preparation for this job which Dan then printed using the Vutek superwide digital inkjet printer. We think it looks great and the client did too...

We're glad to have been part of such a wonderful event, and to be able to bring such a great idea to life. Running a short part of the race with a loved one, would have created some incredible memories for everyone who did it. Congratulations to everyone who took part in the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon!

"Everything went really well on Sunday, thank you. Your team were absolutely fantastic, they were completely self-sufficient and did a fantastic and professional job. You’ve been so helpful and taken every query and question in your stride, thank you so much for all your help. They are raving about the activity and are already talking about next year so they would definitely like to keep the carpet please."
